AFTERCARE

CAREFULLY READ THE INFORMATION BELOW

IMPORTANT – Immediately after your appointment, please follow and abide by these strict aftercare instructions, not following this advice can ruin your results

The Aftercare is crucial for optimum pigment retention. The healing process can take between 2-4 weeks and varies from person to person

Caring for your cosmetic tattoo:

DO’ s

  • Be sure your hands are extra clean before touching the area and treat your cosmetic tattoo like a wound. Keep your hair away from the brows

  • Use a clean cotton pad and lukewarm, distilled water to gently cleanse/dab the area every hour for the first two days, then 2-3 times a day over the next two weeks

  • Apply a thin layer of fragrance free, tattoo specific aftercare ointment to the brows twice a day. Keep applying for the first four days

  • Allow any light scabbing that has formed to naturally fall off

DO NOT’ s

  • Never itch, scratch, pick or scrub your brows as this can pull out pigment colour, causing discolouration, scarring or infection

  • Avoid sleeping on your face as much as possible for at least two weeks after treatment

  • Avoid irritants; do not apply makeup, lotions, creams, scrubs etc (other than aftercare ointment) until healed. Do not use Vaseline, which can lock bacteria into your cosmetic tattoo causing infection

  • Do not use Retinol’s or Acids in the brow area during the healing process

  • No soaking; avoid getting your brows wet as much as possible, (swimming, hot tubs or any activity that submerges the area) for at least two weeks post treatment

  • Sun protection; avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least three weeks

  • Avoid intense exercise for one week. Heat can open pores causing sweat/salt to fade, blur or push out pigment. Do not use saunas or steam rooms until healing process is complete

We recommend that your top up treatment is completed by no later than 8 weeks after the initial appointment, and then yearly

Signs of infection will include excessive swelling, redness, tenderness, elevated temperature, red streaking or purulent drainage (pus) from the procedure site. Please see your doctor immediately if you experience any of these symptoms
